World War II, as in all wars, had its fair share of war related art and propaganda. Each and every government, as well as private individuals, would create and spread their own propaganda. This was designed to support, and promote, their own political and ideological ideals. Propaganda was also used against other countries, to alter the opinions people had of them.
United States - Come on in, I'll treat you right. I used to know your Daddy. (6)In this drawing, a young boy representing the European youth is being pursued by a lady that represents war. It is same lady that his father has been with, and it is because of him that this boy is here. Her face is a skull, representing the death that most of these boys will face.

Great Britain - British poster (1)In this poster, a ruined house and car are shown, most likely from being bombed. The poster states, “It can happen here! Unless we keep’em firing!” This poster was designed to motivate the British people to keep working, and keep producing armaments and munitions for the army, in order to prevent an attack like that.

France - Between the hammer and the anvil! (3)In this propaganda poster, Nazi Germany is being crushed between an anvil and a hammer. This represents how the allied powers will have to work together in order to defeat Germany, and not do it on their own. The words translate to, "Between the hammer and anvil".

U.S.S.R. - Soviet Poster (2)In this Soviet poster, the U.S.S.R.’s military is present very well. It appears strong and unstoppable. The words on the bottom follow suit, saying, “On each and every attack our valorous Red Army will answer with three times more powerful blows!” The poster was designed to promote the military and to boost morale and confidence.

Germany - German recruitment poster (4)This German propaganda poster depicts a young member of the Waffen-SS. It depicts him as a strong, proud man, promoting the Waffen-SS. This poster was one of the most famous recruiting posters used by Nazi Germany. The words on the bottom state the required age to register, 17.

Italy - Win! (8)This Italian propaganda poster depicts three soldiers running confidently forward in victory with the word “Vincere!”, or “Win!” behind them. On the bottom it say, “For the new social order. For civilization. The poster was designed to both support the Italian military and Axis powers, and socialism.

Japan - Japanese Poster (5)In this Japanese poster, a giant samurai is shown standing in the sea, about to strike down on a sinking Ally ship. The three flags of the Axis powers are shown waving behind him. This poster was designed to show the military might of Japan, and its control over the Pacific. It also supports the Axis powers.
